Mission analysis

Mission analysis reviews the operational environment, identifies key resilience factors inherent in it and defines the resilience problem to be addressed in a calculation plan. The calculation plan is updated with each of the subsequent analyses outlined below.

Operations analysis

Operations analysis identifies the key operational processes and the assets critical to them, both inside and outside the organization. The result is a control framework model that depicts how each process depends on each asset and the inherent risks carried by the organization.

Risk analysis

Risk analysis identifies the risks and hazards (natural, accidental, and malicious) that can affect the operational capacities of the organization, both individually and in combination with each other. This stage outlines each risk scenario, the baseline cost of risks currently being carried, and the associated treatments required to increase resilience.

Options analysis

Options analysis identifies potential mitigation packages for each risk scenario and tests them for effectiveness and return on investment. The result is a recommended resilience posture appropriate to the operation, operational context, and available resources. Recommendations are delivered as a concept development report ready for executive decision, together with the fully auditable calculation plan that records all findings and conclusions.

Resilience program development

Resilience program development converts the executive decision, based on the concept development report, into a program of integrated requirements that can be delivered. The outcomes are a project charter and a set of integrated requirements ready for procurement.

Resilience program implementation

Resilience program implementation involves the planning, execution and close-out of the project for a fully integrated solution delivered on time and on budget.

Enterprise resilience program management

Having implemented the resilience program it must be effectively managed. RiskLogik manages your resilience program throughout its lifecycle. This ensures ongoing resilience through simulated emergency drills, personnel training, physical intruder testing and lessons-learned integration. Having achieved a higher level of resilience, the organization can better adapt to changing circumstances and can survive a disruptive event.

The four dimensions of risk

Throughout the implementation of its managed services framework, RiskLogik addresses four critical dimensions of risk: temporal, cyber, human and physical.

Temporal dimension

The temporal dimension examines the time it will take for a hazard to manifest and the time to respond. Temporal analysis sits at the heart of effective risk mitigation and ensures that response plans are relevant.

Cyber dimension

The cyber dimension considers all vulnerabilities to the operation that can occur as a result of cyber dependencies. Cyber resilience examines all potential vulnerabilities related to information technology networks, their data and the consequences of malicious intrusions.

Human dimension

The human dimension considers all the risks to the operation invoked by humans, such as the security of Intellectual Property (IP), sabotage, human error, maintenance and repair, accident, and health and safety compliance obligations.

Physical dimension

The physical dimension considers all the risks associated with the location of the operation and how natural (earthquakes, floods, ice-storms) and manmade (attacks, accidents) can affect the the operations of the organization.
